Still around 12 months away from launching in Australia, the all-new Ford Mustang has captured the hearts of Australian fans with more than 13,000 expressions of interest already received by Ford Australia.
And rightly so – www.carshowroom.com.au has seen the all-new ‘Stang up-close and sat inside and, as Mustang enthusiasts we can tell you it is far-and-away the best one yet.
Ford Australia says we’ll not be getting the V6 version Mustang (strange that) so we’ll see a choice of two powertrains – the 227kW/407Nm turbocharged four-cylinder EcoBoost and the superb 313kW/529Nm 5.0-litre V8.
Of course the Mustang is part of a 2015 new model onslaught from Ford as the ‘Blue Oval’ prepares to transition to a full-line importer. And they’re all cracking good cars – the all-new Mondeo (which effectively will replace the Falcon), updated Focus (including the awesome ST) and the Australian-developed, Ranger-based Everest SUV (a competitor for the Holden Colorado).
That leaves the Territory - some pundits reckon the all-new Ford Edge will be the Territory replacement, but www.carshowroom.com isn’t ruling-out the all-new Explorer. Forget the old Explorer sold here many years ago, we’ve driven the latest Explorer in North American and can confirm it’s an absolutely outstanding full-size SUV with great looks, a stunning interior and heaps of space.
We also think there is a place in Australia for some of the luxury Lincoln models.
