Ken Block’s Gymkhana series has become one of the most prominent examples of pure car indulgence of our time. A deliberate middle finger to the quiet and efficient trends that the industry is shifting toward.

There has been nine episodes so far, with the last one done in a rally-ready Ford Focus RS.

But arguably some wanted the return of the Hoonicorn, a purpose-built highly-modified all-wheel drive destroyer-of-worlds that was built atop a 1965 Ford Mustang body with a 6.7-litre V8 that chucks out over 633kW.

Climbkhana

For this 10th outing, to be filmed at Pikes Peak, and aptly dubbed Climbkhana, Block will be driving up the fearsome 20km hill course to the summit in an even more insane iteration on the Hoonicorn called the V2.

Its big V8 has been integrated with two very visible turbocharger setup that raise power to 1,044kW  that’s ready to obliterate the set of Toyo tyres in a cloud of sideways, physics skirting all-wheel drifts.
