2024 SUZUKI ALTO

I got a 2010 Suzuki Alto, I can tell you that I paid $300 for 20k service with a new dealer not including any parts like wipers ($80) and others!! My old dealer Arncliffe was closed down so I lost extended warranty and free car loan when I doing my service. Suzuki is unreliable when comes to extended warranty and poor customer service from my experiences. I went to the second dealer (Waterloo) for my service after the Arncliffe dealer closed down few months I've bought the car from them, then I was shocked by the standard servicing price $390 for my 20,000km service, and emailed the Service Manager Nick about mentioning about the Toyota capped service price only charged $120 for Toyota 2011 Corolla for my friend. He then quoted me $285 and I was try to discuss to him about the price so I called him, he didn't answer my call, instead his receptionist said he is busy so I asked her to ask Nick call me back. I also emailed him, he never called me back and replied my email. So I raised the poor customer service issue with Yohan from Suzuki Customer Service Centre – infosuzuki@motorone.com and if they can looking into the issue and provide me with better customer service, also I got ignored by Suzuki Customer Service Centre. I was relied on false NRMA advice Suzuki voted for the cheapest to own and operate (http://www.suzuki.com.au/vehicles/models/alto/model-variant/alto-gl/overview), therefore I suffered high economic loss, my next car will never be Suzuki again! Cheap to buy, expensive to operate and poor customer service!

Whilst looking for a new small car I tested a Kia Rio, Proton and Alto. The Alto impressed straight away with its smooth, quiet and refined feeling. The other cars were your basic agricultural low end cars, noisy and notchy gears shifts. I have owned the Alto for 18 months. In that time it has been on 2 trips from Wollongong to Darwin (4200km one way). The car is very quiet on the road, I have driven around for ages in third gear as the engine is so smooth and quiet although a little lumpy at idle. On the trip the car was exceptional on the open road and cruises at speeds up to 150km/h and 15km to the litre at these speeds. At one stage in the wet season it struck 2 massive washouts that I thought would break the car in half but it survived to do another trip after that. On the road it has the feel of a much larger car and is not tiring to drive, indeed one trip to Darwin was done in two and a half days. The engine thrives on revs but is not obtrusive and will rev out to 100km/h in second gear, it does not die at the top end but doesn't do much below 2800 rpm. The boot is shopping size but it is amazing what you can put in it with the rear seats down. All in all it is very good value for money and I feel it will generate a strong and loyal following.
