With up to 300kW/640Nm under the bonnet, Volvo is claiming the all-new XC90 seven-seater will be the world’s most powerful and cleanest SUV. The 408kW/680Nm BMW X6M and 386kW/700Nm Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG might have issues with that but Volvo then points to the XC90’s 60g/km C02 emissions to counter that it’s combination of performance and cleanliness is at the top of the totem pole.
Leading the way for the all-new Volvo XC90 will be the ‘Twin Engine’ ‘T8’ model with a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder supercharged and turbocharged petrol engine driving the front wheels and a 60kW electric motor driving the rears.
On pure electric power, Volvo is anticipating a range for the all-new XC90 T8 of around 40kms.
Volvo Car Australia is still working on Australian details.
