Volvo will be the official car of the Australian Open Golf Championship to be played at The Lakes Golf Club (Sydney) 10-13 November.
It’s a smart move for Volvo as this year’s Australian Open will be played the week before the international President’s Cup in Melbourne where the American team takes on Greg Norman’s International team (from all parts of the world except Europe). American team captain Fred Couples has requested his team members to play the Australian Open as well in order to acclimatize ahead of the Melbourne event.
The Australian Open is co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and One Asia and will be broadcast to over 400 million homes in 40 countries.
“As a luxury brand we viewed the opportunity to be the Official Vehicle for such a premium event as the perfect alignment for Volvo,” explained Matt Braid, Managing Director of Volvo Car Australia.
