Volvo’s iconic P1800 coupe is the inspiration for a dynamic new Concept Coupe which has just been shown in Europe.
We’re pleased to report the muscly looks represent a radical departure for Volvo styling.
Based on the company’s ‘Scalable Product Architecture, the Volvo Concept Coupe is said to be a pointer to the next generation lineup starting with the all-new XC90 due next year.
With a low bonnet and roof, powerful front-end with clever T-shaped DRLs and sitting on meaty 21-inch alloy wheels, the Volvo Concept Coupe certainly looks the business.
Inside the Scandinavian influence is highlighted by naturally-aged wood inlays and a unique handcrafted clear crystal gear-lever.
There’s also a large ‘portrait’ touch-screen centre console and a head-up display.
Performance won’t be lacking with the Volvo Concept Coupe powered by a 2.0-litre petrol/hybrid powertrain delivering 300kW/600Nm.
