Australian Volvo buyers can now opt for the fuel-saving Volvo Drive-E engines in S60, V60 and XC60 models.
Volvo says the 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel powerplants provide the performance of six-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines with the fuel consumption of a four-cylinder.
The choice is the 180kW/350Nm petrol T5 Drive-E engine or the 133kW/400Nm D4 diesel.
As part of the running changes, Volvo has introduced its eight-speed Adaptive Geartronic transmission.
