Developed by the Volvo Monitoring and Concept Centre in Los Angeles, California, the Inflatable Child Seat Concept weighs less than 5kgs – half the weight of a regular child seat.

Current child seats, while undoubtedly safe, are bulky, difficult to instal and inconvenient to carry. The Volvo seat is easy to pack as it fits into a weekend bag and the silent-operating pump has it inflated in five seconds.

Covering is a unique drop-stitch fabric common in boating and aeronautics – it is designed for a high internal pressure and very strong when inflated.
