‘Son Of Tiguan’ – Volkswagen’s upcoming mini-SUV the Taigun has debuted in a new concept car form at the New Delhi Motor Show. This follows an initial concept which was show in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The Volkswagen Taigun on-show in India shows-off a new rear-end with externally-mounted spare wheel. Volkswagen says this change was implemented as a direct result of consumer feedback from Sao Paulo.
Riding on 17-inch wheels, measuring 3859mm in length (including the external spare wheel) and with a wheelbase of 2470mm, the Taigun is indeed a compact SUV designed to give Volkswagen access to emerging markets.
Under the bonnet is Volkswagen’s 1.0-litre, three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine with 81kW on-tap and fuel consumption of just 4.7l/100kms.
A four-seater with bright colours inside and out, the Volkswagen Taigun is designed for the ‘Urban Jungle’ and the swivelling tailgate provides access to a 996-litre cargo area.
