Volkswagen Australia has just revealed the long-awaited T-Roc SUV which is now available for online pre-ordering. Two variants will be offered, namely: The T-Roc 140 TSI Sport and the T-Roc X Special Edition, priced from $40,490 and $42,990 respectively.
Volkswagen says both variants can be secured with a $500 deposit, ahead of its conventional market release when it lands in dealerships come April 2020. Both the T-Roc and T-Cross compact SUV will be on display at the Volksfest event in Brisbane on the 16th of February.
The T-Roc is clearly positioned by the brand to combat segment rivals such as Mazda’s CX-30, Kia’s Seltos GT, Nissan’s Qashqai and Subaru’s XV. However, the German automaker claims that the 140 TSI is one of the most powerful competitor in the segment thanks to its 140kW turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that’s mated to a 7-speed DSG dual clutch gearbox.
The T-Roc’s exterior gets R-Line styling, chrome roof rails and 18-inch Sebring alloy wheels with sport suspension. Inside, you’ll find dark tinted rear windows, LED ambient interior lights, dual-zone air-conditioning, digital cockpit and an 8-inch infotainment screen with satellite navigation.
Furthermore, the 140 TSI Sport will receive the following equipment as standard: AEB with pedestrian monitoring, Adaptive cruise control, Lane Assist with adaptive lane guidance, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Emergency Assist, Proactive occupant protection system, rear view camera, Park Assist, Automatic LED headlights with Light Assist, 4Motion Active Control, Rain sensing wipers and auto dimming rear-view mirror.
The 140 TSI Sport variant will also be offered with the optional Sound and Style package which gets you 19-inch Suzuka alloys, Adaptive Chassis Control and a 300W Beats stereo for $2,000. The optional Luxury Package buys you a panoramic glass sunroof, Vienna leather upholstery and a powered tailgate for $3,500.
The T-Roc X Special Edition adds 19-inch Suzuka alloys in black, Adaptive Chassis Control, a 300W Beats sound system, powered tailgate, black/anthracite red sports fabric upholstery. The panoramic glass sunroof is a $1,900 option.
The Volkswagen T-Roc SUV is available for pre-orders online before the its outted in April 2020.
