At next week’s Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen will debut another SUV concept – this one called the T-ROC and it’s a compact SUV, smaller than the current Tiguan.
SUVs are certainly top-of-mind in Volkswagen’s head-office in Wolfsburg, Germany – Volkswagen fans will recall the concept cars shown last year, the CrossBlue and CrossBlue Coupe (both larger SUVs designed for the Chinese and North American markets which Volkswagen says are being developed for production).
The T-ROC is powered by a new version of Volkswagen’s 2.0TDI turbo-diesel with 135kW/380Nm driving through a seven-speed DSG transmission and the latest-generation 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system.
Inside are digital instruments, digital climate control and a portable tablet comprises the infotainment system.
The compact Volkswagen T-ROC rides on the Golf version of the modular transverse matrix (MQB platform) and measures 4,179mm in length, 1,831mm in width and stands 1,501mm high.
Interestingly, the T-ROC runs a two-piece ‘targa’ removable hardtop roof.
