A fuse problem has surfaced with the Tiguan compact SUVs (in vehicles built between 2008 and 2011) and the recall will involve fitment of a new fuse with a stronger surface coating. Cases reported a blown fuse resulting in failure of individual light functions (however a warning light on the dashboard would indicate the problem to the driver).
Then there is the DQ200 seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. If the gearbox is filled with synthetic oil, electric malfunctions may occur (especially in hot, humid conditions) so a recall is underway to change to a mineral oil.
And there have been reports of a leaking fuel line in Volkswagen Amarok utes with the 2.0-litre TDI engine. The recall will fit a protector plate to prevent the line being damage which could cause chaffing (and hence the leak).
These are all global recalls and Volkswagen Group Australia will be contacting local owners of the vehicles involved.
