Volkswagen has revealed the five-door version of its ground-breaking up! compact hatchback.
The five-door Volkswagen up! measures-up almost identically to the three-door version (diminutive 2.42-metres length, impressive 251-litre cargo capacity, 947mm rear headroom and 789mm rear legroom). However rear seat passengers in the five-door model sit slightly higher at 378mm (306mm in the three-door) for a better view.
Due in Australia later this year, British Volkswagen dealers are already taking orders for the up! three-door with deliveries scheduled to commence in March and UK buyers will see the five-door in the second half of the year.
British specifications are impressive: front and side airbags, ABS anti-lock brakes with Hydraulic Brake Assist and optional City Emergency Braking, removable Maps & More personal infotainment device and optional parking sensors.
The Volkswagen up! scored the maximum five-star safety rating from EuroNCAP – which has a direct relationship to the local NCAP operation meaning a similar score is expected here.
Volkswagen Group Australia will reveal the local up! lineup and prices closer to launch.
