While not quite production-ready, Honda’s Detroit Auto Show star – the Urban SUV Concept – ranks alongside the Volkswagen CrossBlue as probably being the closest of all the concepts.
Honda pointedly says the production version of the Jazz-based concept will take-on the likes of Nissan Juke, Renault Captur, Ford EcoSport and GM’s Trax in this burgeoning segment.
We reckon the production version of what is a critical vehicle for Honda’s global sales aspirations could bow as early as this year’s motor shows in Frankfurt and Tokyo.
Styling is first-rate with a dynamic look highlighted by bold character lines and a very sharp rear-end. The front-end too is very dynamic although weather the ‘Darth Vader’ headlights make it to production is debatable.
Honda says the interior look will be all-new and will include its fabled ‘Magic Seats’.
No news on engines, but don’t be surprised if there’s a hybrid included in the lineup.
