Bouncing back from the effect of Japan’s earthquake/tsunami and floods in Thailand, Honda Australia will unveil the upgraded Odyssey people mover next month and the all-new Civic small car in early 2012.
Expect extra features and even sharper pricing for the Honda Odyssey – one of the world’s most-awarded people movers which still looks pretty as a picture despite a flood of new arrivals in the segment.
Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, Honda’s all-new Civic sedan will arrive early next year and will again come from Honda’s Japanese manufacturing base (the current model has been sourced from Thailand but this plant remains under water).
This will be followed late in 2012 by the all-new Honda Civic sedan which will come from Honda’s British assembly plant in Swindon.
Initially the all-new Honda Civic hatchback will be exclusively powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine, but Honda Australia has confirmed a diesel powerplant will be added early in 2013.
Honda currently sells the Civic hatchback in Europe with a 119kW/350Nm, 2.2-litre diesel.
