Styling changes inside and out plus some extra technology for the updated Lexus ES range.
Most noticeable is a much more aggressive look for the front-end – that comes courtesy of a new version of the ‘spindle’ grille, LED projector headlights (LEDs for both high and low beam) and good-looking new fog-lights which have been shifted to the outer extremities of the bumper to accentuate width.
At the rear are new ‘L’-shaped tail-lights and there are two new-design alloy wheels (20-spoke design for petrol models and a 10-spoke design for the ES 300h).
Inside, the luxury steps-up with Shimamoku luxury wood finish and quilted leather for the seats. There’s also a new steering wheel and 4.2-inch TFT Multi-Information Display screen and range-topping Sports Luxury gets an optional panoramic glass roof.
And safety gets a boost with fitment of the Lexus Safety System+ which consolidates technologies – including Pre-Collision Safety System, Active Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Automatic High Beam.
Entry-level is the Lexus ES 300h Luxury at $62,500.
Next-up is the RS 300h Sports Luxury priced at $70,500 which adds semi-aniline leather interior, Mark Levinson premium audio, rear sunshades and three-zone climate control air-conditioning with a humidity sensor.
Lexus ES 350 – powered by the V6 petrol engine – starts at $63,500 for the ‘Luxury’ model.
ES 350 ‘Sports Luxury’ scores the same extras as the hybrid model and is priced at $71,500.
