Not to be outdone, Citroen’s partner Peugeot arrives in Paris with a new look for its Exalt concept car first shown in Beijing.
There’s a distinctive ‘Shark Skin treatment for the rear-end and some grey shades to differentiate the predominantly bare steel (the bare look paying homage to the French machines from the 1920s and ‘30s and Peugeot says the textures ‘shark skin’ actually aides aerodynamics).
Out-back is an unusual tail-gate which opens cleverly to access an electric scooter stowed below (you drive to the city car-park and scooter to work).
Peugeot Exalt is a five-door hatchback with a sporty long-bonnet look.
Inside is timber-look trim made from recycled newspapers.
Power comes from a turbocharged 1.6-litre hybrid drivetrain with a 50kW electric motor at the rear axle.
