But all looks and no go?
Japanese carmaker Toyota intends to make quite the splash at the upcoming LA motorshow, with its TRD motorsports arm tasked with jazzing-up their already-exciting new Camry & Avalon saloons. While their full debut will be held back until the motorshow opens, Toyota’s let some air out of the bag for the two TRD-ed cars, as part of their #TRDtakeover series on Facebook.
It all looks really exciting, on the surface. Both cars benefit from bodykits, gloss-black highlights, new alloys, wings, and what appear to be bespoke suspension. These cars certainly appear to be daring, and the TRD fettling could perhaps sharpen up the driving experience, as we know that TRD is entirely capable of doing that.
No specifics around the two cars have been revealed as yet, but it’s pretty safe to assume that their new engines have likely been left alone, given they’re still new and there hasn’t been much ‘exploration’ in exploiting them just yet. What we also can only speculate about at this point are the interiors, as we were only afforded a peek at the cabin of the Camry, revealing a leather/suede combination, red stitching, and TRD-embroidered headrests.
