Superleggera incoming?
A very loud and very winged Lamborghini Huracan was heard tearing through the German countryside, originating from the Nurburgring Nordschleife track where an almost fully camouflaged supercar was being tested.
Despite the attempts to disguise it, it remained immediately obvious that Lamborghini was developing a lighter, quicker, possibly more powerful version of the Huracan that could be the Superleggera.
The large fixed rear wing and extra aero at the front only bolstered any assumption in that favour, putting one in mind of the Huracan Super Trofeo racer. However, the wheel design looks to be the same as those fitted to a regular Huracan, which is curious as the Superleggera would likely have lighter wheels like the Gallardo before it.
It is possible, assuming that this is indeed a Huracan Superleggera, that Lamborghini is testing other parameters first such as engine or transmission calibration and electronics before moving on to the business of tuning its suspension, steering and chassis balance.
The exhaust note does indeed seem loud in terms of out-and-out volume but doesn’t sound all that removed from the original car. It’s still a smooth, almost tame show of aggression that doesn’t sound as raw as the Gallardo Superleggera’s 5.2-litre V10 despite being essentially the same engine.
It’s anyone’s guess when exactly Lambo will chose to officially announce the lightweight Huracan.
