Toyota previewed its good-looking all-new Yaris compact at the Australian International Motor Show ahead of its local launch late this year.
The new Toyota Yaris is altogether more sophisticated than the current model – designed very much for the European market – but retains the somewhat cheeky character which is a Yaris hallmark.
It looks very aerodynamic with a shallow grille opening, large, steeply contoured headlights and a long, sweeping roofline.
The wheelbase is longer then the current Toyota Yaris – a pointer to enhance interior space.
Inside the ramped-up sophistication continues with an all-new look highlight
ed by great-looking seats (the current Yaris seats are a bit flat), a handsome dashboard and lots of storage nooks and boxes.
Windscreen wipers are a pain for vehicle aerodynamics – every car needs them but they do create drag and wind noise. Toyota has addressed this in the new Yaris with a large, single wiper with an integrated washer nozzle.
