Toyota Launches Prius+

Toyota’s long-awaited follow-up to its Prius hybrid bowed at the Geneva Motor Show – the seven-seat Prius+.

The addition to the Prius family is larger with three seat rows – the second with three individual split-folding seats and the third row offering 50:50 split-fold.

Prius+ also debuts Toyota’s latest Hybrid Synergy Drive system with a lithium-ion battery pack. Taking advantage of the extra interior space, Toyota has mounted the battery pack under the front console – between the driver and front passenger seats.

Toyota maintained the three driver-select drive modes we know from the current Prius.

More than just a stretched Prius, the Prius+ is all-new - although clearly an evolution of the existing model. With lots of attention to aerodynamics including sharp-edged headlights and turbulence-minimizing aero-corners, the seven-seater has a low Cd 0.29 drag co-efficient.
