Kick-starting the 60th anniversary celebrations for the Toyota LandCruiser is a limited edition model based on the 200 Series GXL.

Prices for the 60th Anniversary ‘Cruiser start at $79,990 and Toyota says the limited edition models boast more than $5,000 worth of extra kit.

There’s a leather-accented interior, four-CD entertainment system with Bluetooth-compatibility and touch-screen satellite navigation, ‘premium’ steering wheel and gear lever plus roof rails and the obligatory ‘60th Anniversary’ badges.

In fact there’s extra value in the limited edition models powered by Toyota’s twin-turbo V8 diesel as they gain the Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS) which is already standard in the petrol versions.

Toyota’s 60th Anniversary LandCruisers are only available in three paint colours – Crystal Pearl (previously only on range-topping Sahara models) , Graphite and a new ‘Shimmer Blue’.
