Heavy-duty towing ability is the core of Toyota’s sales-dominating LandCruiser 200 and things have ramped-up even further with Toyota including Trailer Sway Control.

LandCruiser 200 Series is the first to adopt this safety technology – appreciated by anyone who has towed a large trailer.

Swaying is s spooky feeling induced by many factors including cross-winds, sharp turns or even buffeting from passing trucks on open roads.

Toyota LandCruiser 200’s Trailer Sway Control works in conjunction with existing stability control technology and gains input from the vehicle’s sensors for steering, yaw-rate and acceleration.

The system does not require any additional hardware or trailer modifications but uses deceleration control and yaw-moment control to counteract the effects of swaying.

In addition, Toyota has boosted the safety of entry-level LandCruiser 200 Series GX and mid-grade GXL models with the addition of knee airbags for the driver and front seat passenger, bringing the total number of airbags fitted to these models to eight. Range-topping VX and Sahara models have 10 airbags (including side airbags for rear-seat passengers).
