Toyota says its Detroit Auto Show debutant, the ‘Furia’ concept, is a pointer to an upcoming new sedan for the North American market.
Likely to be a member of the Corolla family, the Furia goes down the currently trendy design path of two-tone colour schemes – in this case a grey colour used on the front bumper/air intake and on the side all the way down to the rear wheels. A narrow-look front end and headlights show lineage to the just-launched new Corolla range.
At the rear, the short overhang, high waistline and large glass shows some hints of the Chevrolet Volt.
As for the future? At the recent Corolla launch, Toyota Australia said sedan volume was relatively low and the previous generation Corolla sedan is selling alongside the all-new hatchback.
We reckon the Furia previews the new Corolla sedan and Toyota will try to separate the two model lines (hatchback and sedan)…all will be revealed.
