Toyota has raided its parts and accessories store to pack the limited edition Camry Touring model with lots of extra goodies and send it to dealers with a special ‘Driveaway’ price of $30,990.
Toyota says the added kit represents more than $2,000 worth of value.
A very smart inclusion is a reversing camera which displays the view aft on the upgraded audio system’s LCD screen. Car Showroom reckons the added safety of reversing cameras requires them to be standard fitment in all cars ASAP.
Externally, Camry Touring gains a sporty look with 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels, a bootlid spoiler, front foglights, sports headlights and the radiator grille from the Sportivo model.
Inside, there’s dual-zone air-conditioning, the multi-information display (needed for the reversing camera), a six-disc CD sound system and premium gear lever and three-spoke steering wheel.
No changes under the bonnet for Toyota’s handy 117kW, 2.4-litre, four-cylinder engine which returns fuel economy as low as 8.8l/100kms.
More than 80 per cent of the Camrys made at Toyota’s Altona, Victoria plant are for export sales and, not surprisingly, it’s fully equipped on the safety front with vehicle stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes and six airbags
