Jaguar used the Geneva Motor Show to confirm its all-new mid-size sports sedan will be called the XE. Expect to see the all-new Jaguar XE in production form before the end of the year.
It will be the first production Jaguar to use the advanced aluminium chassis architecture shown in the C-X17 concept car at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
Continuing the firsts, the Jaguar XE will be the first Jaguar to employ the all-new ‘Ingenium’ family of four-cylinder, 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines to be made at Jaguar Land Rover’s new UK engine manufacturing facility.
Jaguar says the XE will be sold in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive and the range-topper will boast a top speed in excess of 300km/h.
Sales are expected to start in mid-2015.
