Tesla Releases Oz Model X Prices

With deliveries due to begin later in 2016, prospective buyers can now know how much they’ll actually be needing to pay for the all-electric SUV from Tesla.

The Model X will have a starting price of $111,900 for the base-level 60D excluding on-road costs and luxury car tax and can go all the way to $172,100 for the most powerful P90D version. Of course, this being peddled as an SUV, it will come standard with all-wheel drive with each axle having its own electric motor, unlike rear-driven variants of the Model S and Model 3.

There will be four variants of the Model X overall, with the battery capacities and range increasing with the price. The base 60D has a claimed maximum range of 380km from its 60kWh battery and combined 245kW power output.

Moving a tier upward gives buyers the Model X 75D with a battery capacity of 75kWh, increasing the maximum range to 417km. That aside, though, the 60D can match it for 0-100km/h acceleration and even has the same power and torque figures.

The penultimate Model X variant is the 90D ($143,000) which comes with, you guessed it, a 90kWh battery, giving it the most amount of maximum range at 489km while its more powerful electric motor produces 311kW and enables a 100km/h dash in just 4.8 seconds.

Finally, the fastest and most powerful Model X is the P90D. In this guise, power is bumped to 311kW and 660Nm, while its more powerful electric motors enable a 4.0 second century sprint time (3.4 seconds with Ludicrous Mode) and a maximum range of 467km.

Every Model X will come with compatibility to access Tesla’s network of 120kW Superchargers which gives the Model X approximately 400km of range after a one-hour charge time.

Some standard features of the Model X includes full LED headlamps, panoramic glass windshield, keyless entry, automatic tail gate and, of course, those unique Falcon Wing rear doors.
