Sharper designs like the 86 coupe, all-new Corolla and all-new RAV4 have re-energized Toyota and further built the value of its brand.
For the 10th consecutive year the Japanese giant has been ranked the world’s most valuable automotive brand according to the authoritative ‘Best Global Brands Report’ compiled by international consultancy Interbrand.
The survey values Toyota at $US35.3 billion – 17 per-cent higher than 2012.
Interbrand said Toyota reclaimed global sales leadership with a renewed sense of energy in every market and applauded the fact ‘design’ is playing an increasing role in its product development. And for the latter, Toyota can thank its enigmatic chief Akio Toyoda.
