Suzuki joined the hybrid race at the Tokyo Motor Show by unveiling the Swift EV Hybrid.
A clever execution, the Suzuki Swift EV Hybrid can cover up to 30kms on electric power (this distance of most city daily commutes) and can extend its range thanks to a petrol engine which is used as a generator.
Suzuki says using the generator to top-up electric power means the Swift EV Hybrid uses a smaller, cheaper battery which is lighter and faster to charge than rival pure EVs. That saves coin for customers and uses fewer resources in the re-charging process.
