Subaru Forester S-Edition

First seen at the Sydney Motor Show last year, Subaru have finally released the Subaru Forester S-Edition on the Australian Public. Inspired by the legendary WRX Impreza the Subaru Forester S-Edition is powered by the same turbocharged 2.5 litre engine that powers the WRX, which produces 193 Kilowatts of power and 347 Newton metres of torque.

Unique styling and engineering on the Forester S-Edition include

• 193 Kilowatt engine which is 14 per cent more powerful than the Forester XT
• Five-speed STI paddleshift automatic transmission
• Black grille with chrome-style highlight
• Silver roof rails
• Subaru Tecnica International (STI) 17-inch alloy wheels
• WR blue colour option – for a strictly limited period
• Sport interior with a blue tone
• Alcantara and leather seat trim
• S-Edition seat embroidery and blue stitching
• Sporty instrument display
• Blue-tone foot lights
• Special gear shifter
• Unique cargo door logo


Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “We have had increasing customer interest in a more powerful Forester and are delighted to be the first export market for S-Edition, which made its worldwide debut at the Australian International Motor Show in Sydney last October.

“It combines the best of two winning Subaru formulas – WRX and Forester, the latter of which is firmly entrenched as Australia’s favourite compact SUV.

Priced from $50,990 which is only $3,000 over the Forester XT Premium auto Mr Senior said “Subaru was hoping to sell around 150 of the Subaru Forester S-Edition a month.” He also mentioned while other car manufactures are trying to cram the lower end of the market Subaru are trying to expand the top end with cars like the Subaru Forester S-Edition.
