The annual GTI gathering in Worthesee, Austria is a chance for all Volkswagen brands to showcase unusual and performance car concepts and this year Skoda didn’t disappoint with two Citigo compact car concepts.
With a nod to Skoda’s World Rally Championship program, the Skoda Citigo Rally pushes the compact city car into the sports arena with massive 18-inch wheels, bold wheel arch flares, side skirts, a rear wing, rear diffuser with central exhaust pipe and aero bumpers with huge cool air intakes.
Inside the Skoda Citigo Rally runs a roll cage, race seats and lightweight racing dashbioard and switchgear.
While fans were enthusiastic and are keen to see this car enter production, Skoda also showed a production-ready model – the Skoda Citigo with optional ‘Sport Design’ package which will be available for order.
On the other hand, Skoda’s Citigo DJ car was strictly for show – a mobile sound stage with professional sound mixer and 100,000 watt music system installed behind the front seats.
