We’re just some hours away from the full unveil of the Skoda’s first SUV, the Kodiaq, but the Czech automaker can’t help but fan the hype flames a bit and so have released some interior shots of the new model.
To their credit, it really is the final puzzle piece that was missing for us to craft a full-enough picture of the Volkswagen Tiguan-based high rider as we’ve been privy to quite a few exterior peeks already.
As we know it, the new Skoda will be available in either 5 or 7 seat configurations, with the newly revealed pictures showing its seating layout and cavernous boot with the third-row seats folded completely flat, increasing space to 2065-litres.
Up front, we see rather sporty leather seats that give away its high-spec configuration and a dash that’s predominantly soft touch black material, showing off a design language that’s typical for Skoda and not far afield from those offered within the Volkswagen Group.
There’s also the new Skoda Connect system with a centrally placed touchscreen display to handle navigation and infotainment duties.
There’s no firm word yet on engines but we expect it to mirror those of the Volkswagen Tiguan, meaning petrols beginning with a 1.4-litre TSI unit and diesels with a 2.0-litre TDI.
We’ll know more soon as Skoda readies the new Kodiaq for a full reveal in Berlin.
