A surprise from SKODA at the Frankfurt Motor Show with the reveal of the MissionL – an all-new compact five-door liftback.
Although technically a concept car, the SKODA MissionL will be shown in production-ready form and the company says it will point to a new product line.
Skoda says the MissionL will be produced in specific model grades for markets in Europe, Russia, China and India and is a crucial model in its plans to sell 1.5-million cars annually by 2018.
As part of this growth, SKODA is currently investing heavily in new production facilities – from 2013 the Czech-Republic brand will produce the Yeti and a new compact vehicle in China, which will mean SKODA will have five models for sale in the world’s biggest new car market.
In India, later this year, SKODA will start production of a new compact sedan for that market and from late next year will start production of the Yeti in Russia, in partnership with the local GAZ Group.
