The Skoda Kodiaq SUV, considered to be one of the most important cars for the Czech marque, has now gained an addition to the lineup, in the form of the Kodiaq Scout. Like its smaller family members that bear the Scout name, the Kodiaq benefits from visual upgrades that give it look like it’s got a little more off-road prowess.

On the front, the Kodiaq Scout gains a wide, protective skid plate, making it look more rugged. And at the rear, there’s a wide, protective skid plate, to do the same job. And aside from trim-unique 19-inch wheels, silver finishing for select trim pieces, and window tint, that’s basically it. There have been no revisions to the all-wheel drive powertrain that the Kodiak comes with as standard, or any changes to the Off-Road Assist and Rough-Road underbody drivetrain protection options that have always been available for the model.

The Kodiaq Scout will make its global debut at the Geneva motorshow in March, but it is still unconfirmed if it’ll make Australian introduction along with the rest of the range in August. There’s a strong possibility that it will, considering that the upgrades are just aesthetic, so it shouldn’t be ruled out.
