Seat, Volkswagen’s Spanish brand, has predictably added a five-door variant to its Mii compact city car range (based on the Volkswagen Up!).
As with the Up!, Seat’s Mii is a ground-breaking vehicle which brings all of Volkswagen’s design-smarts and technology to the compact class. The miniscule 3.56-metre long Mii seats five people and delivers luggage capacity of 251-litres (rear seat in place ) or 951-litres (rear seat folded).
Seat stylists have done a good job differentiating their version from the German Up! by neatly integrating the hallmark Seat front-end. The Seat version also runs unique wheel arches and triangular rear lights.
Where the five-door scores kudos is especially with families – the wide-opening rear doors making for easy access to strap-in youngsters. The five-door version retains the same roof contour as the three-door but the side window line runs a little lower.
