The hybrid-power Honda Insight, due for local launch later this year and the Honda CR-Z sports car, scheduled mid next year, have both scored well for safety.
The CR-Z scored the maximum five-star safety rating from Euro NCAP while the Insight was named ‘Safest Hybrid Vehicle’.
Honda says the CR-Z will be launched with standard Vehicle Stability Assist, ABS anti-clock brakes with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) plus six airbags and active headrests.
In addition, the CR-Z features front end structures and components designed to optimize pedestrian safety - an aspect which comprises 20 per cent of the Euro NCAP test scores.
