Isn't that spelled with a 'C'? Not this one.

Renault is executing their push further and deeper into new markets, particularly those beyond western Europe, with a planned 10 models on their way toward introduction in various countries, and has presented their all-new Kaptur crossover at an event in Moscow.

We realise that you’re probably already familiar with the Renault Captur, but notice the that the Kaptur (with a K) is also larger in size and will be offered exclusively for the Russian market.

Measuring 211mm longer, 47mm taller, and 35mm wider than the Captur known pretty much everywhere else Renaults are sold, the Russian-only Kaptur also has a redesigned grille and front fascia paired with new C-shaped LED daytime running lights.

The Kaptur is also more off-road capable than the Captur – with Renault fitting it with an all-wheel drive system with a locking centre differential and beefed up suspension to properly prep it for the wilds of the Russian landscape.

The new Kaptur is likely based on their Duster, which could explain why the car is larger and has more rugged credo to go along with that name change.

Inside, the Kaptur looks very much like the international-spec Captur, with the very rounded dashboard and a 7-inch central command screen.

The Kaptur will be manufactured in Renault’s plant in Moscow and is due to hit showrooms this summer. Plans to offer the Kaptur in other markets is pretty much non-existent at the moment, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine it being in demand in other countries.
