Advancing its association with world F1 champions, Red Bull Racing, Renault has revealed its new flagship Megane ‘hot hatch’ – the limited edition Megane Renaultsport Red Bull Racing RB8.
While there has so far been no word on Australian plans for this exclusive limited edition (only 30 are heading for Britain), but we’re hopeful Renault Australia can secure some of these ‘ultimate’ Meganes for local sale – the existing Megane RS265 is a definite Car Showroom Favourite and stakes a claim to being the world’s best hot-hatch.
The limited edition Megane Renaultsport Red Bull Racing RB8 shares the special Bridgestone Potenza RE050A tyres with the 265 Trophy model but is finished in the hallmark Red Bull Racing colour scheme of ‘Twilight Blue’ (complete with logos) with ‘Platinum Grey’ detail for the front blade, rear spoiler, mirrors and door handles.
Inside is Red Bull branding, Recaro seats, TomTom Live satellite navigation, R-link multimedia and the latest Version 2.0 of the on-board RS Monitor with real time display for info likle G-forces and lap times (the latter GPS-tracked).
The drivetrain (195kW/360Nm turbo 2.0-litre and six-speed manual transmission) is straight from the RS265 Trophy.
European deliveries start next month but no word yet on prices.
