Renault has leveraged its Formula One involvement by launching the Clio RS 200 Australian Grand Prix Limited Edition on the eve of the season-opening Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
A quarter of the Melbourne F1 field are powered by Renault engines and Australian Red Bull Renault team driver mark Webber was on-hand to lift the covers from the ‘Liquid Yellow’ colour hot hatch.
Only 30 specially badged Renault Clio RS 200 Australian Grand Prix Limited Edition models are available for sale from local Renault dealers, priced at $39,990 ($1,000 more than the regular Clio RS ‘Trophee’).
Power comes from Renault’s 148kW 2.0-litre engine, driving the 1281kgs Clio RS 200 via a sporty six-speed manual transmission. Zero to 100km/h takes just 6.9-seconds and red-painted Brembo brakes handle the stopping.
Externally, there’s an additional black-painted roof spoiler, a black roof, an F1-style front splitter and rear diffuser.
Inside, you get Renault Sport Recaro seats, a Renault Sport leather-wrapped steering wheel and aluminium pedals. There’s also a CD/MP3/Blueooth audio system and privacy glass.
