Renault showed the all-new Clio RS200 hot hatch at the Paris Motor Show and, once again it looks hot.
Major changes under the bonnet however with Renault replacing the Clio’s current naturally- aspirated 2.0-litre engine with a turbocharged 1.6-litre unit. Interestingly, the turbo 1.6 delivers the same 147kW at the ‘atmo’ 2.0-litre but peak torque is much better at 240Nm.
Drive is via a double-clutch auto with steering wheel paddle shifters for manual changes and three driver-select modes.
Of course the big deal with the current model is the balance between the 2.0-litre engine and the chassis so it will be interesting to see the impact of the turbocharged engine on driveability.
Looks are dominated by the massive spoiler and diffuser, unique bumpers and 17-inch alloy wheels (18-inch are options).
Renault Australia will launch the all-new Clio RS200 is a few months again with both Sport and racy Cup models.
