No word from the local distributors whether this baby is heading to Australia but those in Toorak, Victoria and Double Bay NSW will be getting keen – it’s the new range-topping Range Rover called the SV Autobiography and it debuts this week at the New York Auto Show.
Put simply, this is the most luxurious and most powerful (405kW/680Nm from the uprated supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine with quad tailpipes) series production Range Rover so far in the vehicle’s 45-year history.
The SV Autobiography specification is available in both regular and long wheelbase versions and check-out the stylish two-tone paintwork – you get the upper body in ‘Santorini Black’ and can chose from nine colours for the lower body.
At the front is the 2016 model year Range Rover bonnet lettering and a unique grille in ‘Graphite Atlas’.
Inside you get four leather seats, switchgear and pedals machined from solid aluminium and optional sliding loadspace in aluminium and timber.
Those in the rear get electronic folding tables and there’s optional ‘Event Seating’ (two rear-facing seats in the luggage compartment – just the thing for the ‘Member’s’ car-park at the Melbourne Cup).
