The first Range Rover to wear the high-performance SVR badge has been confirmed for local sale from the second quarter of 2015.
With 405kW/680Nm on-tap, the Range Rover Sport SVR’s supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine is 30kW/55Nm up on the regular version and drives through a 8HP70 ZF eight-speed automatic transmission with shift times cut by up to 50 per-cent and throttle-blipping downchanges.
And there’s an electronically-controlled two-stage exhaust for a suitably racy exhaust note at high engine speeds.
Zero to 100km/h ticks by in just 4.7 seconds.
Regular wheels are 21-inch alloys with all-season tyres or you can select unique 22-inch wheels and wheel arch extensions with 295/40 R22 Continental SportContact 5 rubber.
On the outside are sporty styling enhancements including a new front bumper and revised bonnet vents for boosted cooling and aerodynamics plus a rear spoiler and bumper with a gloss black diffuser while inside, the Range Rover Sport SVR boasts a unique look including optional carbon fibre trim highlights and sports seats front and rear.
Steering and suspension set-ups have also been re-done for sporty drivers.
