Range Rover has chosen next month’s New York International Auto Show to debut the latest iteration of its Sport model – the Sport HST.

Headline act is an uprated supercharged 3.0-litre V6 engine with an extra 30kW boosting total output to 280kW.

“The HST extends our Range Rover Sport lineup giving customers even great choice,” explained range Rover’s David Mitchell. “Sitting between the existing 250kW Range Rover Sport 3.0-litre V6 supercharged and the 405kW supercharged variant, it delivers V6 performance to go with Range Rover Sport’s renowned comfort and refinement.”

The unique exterior style is highlighted by a black theme including a Santorini Black contrast roof and ‘Stealth Pack’ lights front and rear.

There’s also a new spoiler and unique HST 21-inch alloy wheels in dark satin grey (22-inch ‘Stealth’ alloys are optional) and larger 20-inch brakes with red-painted calipers.

Inside are duo tine seats in Oxford leather, all-ebony door trims and centre console, ebony headlining and of course different colour combinations.

Range Rover Sport HST also scores unique chassis settings and reduced body-roll.

New York also sees a stack of updates across the entire Range Rover Sport range including standard All Terrain Progress Control, hands-free ‘gesture’ tailgate operation and Automatic Access Height.

A carbon fibre pack is available as a dealer-fit option.

Look for the 2016 Range Rover Sport in Australian showrooms late this year.
