Virgin Galactic’s new SpaceShip 2, the ‘VSS Unity’, was unveiled last night in California’s Mojave desert.
Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson towed the new space ship into the hangar at the Mojave Air and Space Port base behind a Range Rover Autobiography.
Range Rover provides a fleet of vehicles for the Virgin Galactic team both in Mojave and in New Mexico.
And for a project as high-tech as this, it was fitting the ‘VSS Unity’ was towed behind an Autobiography – for 21 years the range-topping Range Rover model.
The partnership between Virgin Galactic and Range Rover sees plenty of Union jack flags on display – two companies with a true British heritage who constantly push the boundaries of technology.
No word on the Rangie’s fuel consumption while towing the surprisingly compact spacecraft.
