The five-door version of Range Rover’s Evoque compact SUV has been revealed.
You can expect the Evoque five-door to be launched locally next year.
Range-Rover’s ground-breaking small car is a stunner in either three or five-doors, but the newcomer will probably be the bigger-selling variant.
Although dimensionally almost identical to the three-door (same footprint but 30mm taller), the new five-door Evoque does provide marginally more headroom for rear seat passengers and, with the rear seat folded, affords a useful 1445-litres of cargo space as well as sufficient width to accommodate a full-size golf bag (some rivals don’t measure-up in that department and longer clubs need to be removed).
Drivetrains are identical in both variants – the 177kW 2.0-litre petrol or 110kW and 140kW versions of the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel.
Both three-door and five-door Evoques also share the massive array of luxury features and technology which are the hallmark of Range Rover.
And both include many features to reduce weight – such as plastic front fenders and tailgate and aluminium for the roof and bonnet.
