Start-up Chinese brand Qoros has released these first images of its new 3 hatchback model which will greet attendees at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
The Swiss debut will come exactly 12 months after the launch of the Qoros 3 sedan.
And those who question the quality of Chinese-built cars will no doubt be disturbed to hear Euro NCAP (the world’s benchmark NCAP operation) has awarded the five-star safe Qoros 3 sedan the title of Euro NCAP’s safest car of 2013. The new hatchback version rides on the same platform as the sedan.
The new body style shows a subtle advances over the sedan version – both highlighted by European looks (as you’d expect from a company laden with staff poached from top-shelf German automakers). For example, as well as the obvious changes required at the rear, the Qoros 3 hatchback version runs a unique front grille, bumper and fog lights.
The stylish interior is highlighted by Qoros’ clever eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is operated by smartphone-like finger swipe inputs. Most models will provide ‘QorosCloud’ – a which provides a suite of free-for-life services with 3G connectivity.
Qoros says the long wheelbase of the 3 Hatchback will provide interior space which is at the front of the pack.
Car Showroom understands discussions are well-advanced with a major private importer to bring the Qoros range to Australia.
