An iconic location for an iconic car – last weekend it was Sydney’s turn to celebrate 50 years of the Porsche 911 with over 100 examples of the famous German sports car forming a 1.5-kilometre train which took over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Leading the way was a left-hand-drive 1967 model on loan from the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart and included in the lineup was the second-ever 911 delivered to an Australian customer back in 1965.
Word has it the Sydney celebration, closing off a lane of the famous bridge, even outdid previous 50th anniversary events in Paris, Geneva, Stuttgart, Shanghai, London and Sao Paolo.
