The daggers were out in Paris when Porsche unveiled its first all-new concept car since being 100 per-cent taken-over by Volkswagen.
The cynics said the so-called Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo was the first step in Volkswagen’s dismantling of Porsche’s brand values as it’s a ‘wagon’.
Porsche says the newcomer: “Has a body concept that embodies the idea of a functional sports car that unites Porsche performance with even more everyday utility and transport flexibility.”
Of course the critics also said Ferrari would be incapable of delivering any cars with soul after the death of Enzo Ferrari. Erm…the 458 Italia is without doubt the most beautiful car currently being produced.
The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is a plug-in hybrid with a combined 396kW on-tap and can be driven as a pure electric vehicle at 130km/h for 30kms.
