The Cayenne is Porsche’s version of the Volkswagen Touareg and Audi Q7 and the new line-up is a tad more pricey than the current range with the entry-level Cayenne Diesel (193kW/580Nm) stickered at $104,700.

Included in the updates, the Porsche Cayenne Diesel adds bi-xenon headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels, tyre pressure monitor and auto-dimming mirrors.

But the biggest news is perhaps the Cayenne S which scores a new 309kW/550Nm twin-turbo V6 which actually delivers 15kW/50Nm more than the outgoing 4.8-litre V8.

Like its sister the Cayenne S diesel, the updates bring 20-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, metallic paint, Porsche Dynamic Lights System and a sunroof.

Grunt is up too for the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid with the 3.0-litre supercharged V6 hybrid now delivering 306kW/590Nm. Extra good news is a $10,000 price cut for the Cayenne S E-Hybrid – now priced at $139,200.
