Don't have have plans for Sunday morning, then get down to the Sydney Harbour Bridge to witness 100 Porsche 911s driving in convoy across the bridge.
At 8:00am on Sunday 15, under police escort the 911s will drive in single file across the bridge on their way to Taronga Zoo. Leading the group will be an original 1967 911 from the Porsche Museum. The tour has already been to Paris, Geneva, Stuttgart, Shanghai, London and Sao Paolo. From Sydney it heads to Tokyo, Singapore and then Los Angeles before returning to Stuttgart.
“For Australia to be included in the 911 world tour is testament to the strong reputation we have internationally as a nation of real Porsche enthusiasts,” says Porsche Cars Australia Managing Director, Michael Winkler.
“It was our plan to celebrate fifty years of 911 with fifty 911s in an organised convoy across Sydney Harbour, but response from members of the Porsche Club New South Wales was overwhelming and we were forced to close off entries once we hit one hundred, barely a few days after expressions of interest were sought.
“The convoy should make a spectacular sight with around one and a half kilometres of Porsche 911s nose to tail streaming across Sydney Harbour.”
